Hello friends! Are you still here? I wouldn’t blame you if you weren’t. It’s been a while – eighteen months exactly. At the end of 2018, we sold our house in Maine and brought a few of our sentimental pieces back to Ohio. The new owner had all their own furniture, so we had to find new homes for everything in the house through family, friends, and charities. It was a lot of work. Then, my husband retired early last year and we built a workshop for him in our yard. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind, but now that we know we will be staying in Ohio for a while, I’ve been more excited to do projects around here again.

My first project for 2020 was the gallery wall framing the cupboard we brought back from Maine and put in the dining room. I used pages from the John Derian Picture Book. It’s full of beautiful 11×14 vintage prints that are ready to hang. It was hard to pick just 12. I used 11 x 14 black gallery frames. It was an easy project and I love how it came out.

Then, I bought some vintage linen on Etsy and made some chair covers. I found four yards of vintage Belgian linen for $25.00. I wasn’t sure at first about all the pattern in the room, but I do like lots of color, texture and pattern and this fabric certainly adds all that and more.

Lastly, I added some tassel trim to store bought curtains to customize them. I found the vintage trim on Etsy. I try to find vintage whenever I can. It is usually great quality and more affordable. It was $22.00 for 10 yards. I was able to do the whole update for under $150.00.
I’ve kind of fallen in love with the English country style and somehow it is working in here with the mix of what we had and what we brought back from Maine.
I dusted off my computer and camera, and I feel like I’m in a better place to share some projects again. Next time, I’ll share the plans for our family room. It’s a room that I’ve never shared here before and it is in much need of an update.
Thank you for stopping by,
