Our back door is the most used door in our house. Family, friends and neighbors all enter through this door. It’s right by the driveway welcoming people as they arrive, so naturally it needs seasonal decor.
But, these fall decorations are so simple they may not even be post worthy. The truth is I like simple understated seasonal decor. Mums in a basket, a swan squash (love those) and pumpkin along with a fall pillow on the adirondack chair is as simple as it gets. Hmmm … I’m noticing an unintentional bird theme in my fall decor.

Oh this is fall perfection at its finest! A truly cozy vignette.
While we don’t have much fall here in Phoenix I would love for you to stop by to see where I did find a bit of fall.
Have a blessed day!

If it’s got a white adirondack chair, then it’s good with me! 🙂 I saw one of those squashes at the farmer’s market just today and I didn’t know what they were called. Now I know! And I want one…

I like simple, too. I hauled our adirondack chairs to the front porch and called it a day. It snowed today, so that sort of takes the fun out of being outside in the fall. Hopefully the warm comes back next week!
I’d love to see some photos of your autumn landscape! I’ve never seen a swan squash before. Very cool!

All our family have keys to our place but friends usually use our side gate and back door but we are looking after my sons little dog and he is a bit of an adventurer and escape artist and we live on a busy road, so everyone is using the front door now. I do love the swan squash.

Just discovered your blog and just love everything you’ve done. My husband and I are in the process of fixing up a lake cottage in NH so the inspiration from you is very welcome. I just tried Annie Sloan chalk paint and am also hooked.

Hi Mary, I just popped over from Brenda’s blog. I do love those swan gourds, every year I put one out, it “walks”! I have to keep it inside. I am following you on email now, too. I liked the wool blanket tutorial. I am going to look for fabric and see if I can sew it on my little portable machine. xo
