Using the skills I learned from Miss Mustard Seed’s Slipcover Video Series, I made some slipcovers for the dining room chairs. These were much more simple than the wing chair, because there aren’t any curves to maneuver. It’s basically straight line sewing.
I didn’t want anything too formal, so I went with a simple chair cover with a 4″ skirt.
I measured the chairs and then drew out a pattern adding 1/2″ seam allowances wherever there was a seam.
Basically this was my pattern.
I used a prewashed drop cloth and utilized the finished hems to my advantage, so that I had minimal finishing (that is a Miss Mustard Seed tip). Although, this time, the drop cloth I bought had lots of crazy seams down the middle, so there was some waist and I needed to buy another drop cloth.
I love that they only cost $5.00 each and that they are washable. Only two more to go.

Love this. I was just looking at Overstock for some slipcovers. I may try this instead.
